Accessibility Paths

Discover the accessibility routes of the Archaeological Parks of Paestum and Velia

The Archaeological Parks of Paestum and Velia have been equipped with different equipment and solutions to ensure accessibility to the heritage for all, in safety and autonomy. Among the acquired devices are the Zoom Uphill (introduced experimentally and temporarily), high-tech vehicles, marketed for Zoomability AB by the Greenova Italia Company.

These are ‘off road’ electric vehicles that also allow people with walking difficulties or non-walking to visit some of the most evocative and iconic places of the archaeological areas of Paestum and Velia. In particular, there is a visit path, called “architecture without barriers”, which allows access to one of the two temples of the southern area of the archaeological area of Paestum, specifically it is possible to visit the internal space of the so-called Basilica, accessing it through a ramp.

Some paths have also been prepared at the acropolis of Velia, to be able to visit the upper part of the archaeological area and the exhibition “Elea: la rinascita”.

The routes currently available are aimed at people in wheelchairs and at both sites, thanks to off-road vehicles and staff dedicated to accessibility, it is possible to offer an even more rewarding experience.
