PNRR PROJECTS

The National Recovery and Resilience Plan

Next Generation EU (NGEU) is a €750 billion package of grants and loans launched by the European Union to support member states in recovering from the pandemic. At the heart of this programme is the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), which runs from 2021 to 2026.
Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) puts this initiative into action through a comprehensive package of reforms and investments. Spanning the years 2021 to 2026, the plan outlines projects and measures built around three key priorities shared across Europe:

  • Digitalisation and innovation
  • Green transition
  • Social inclusion

The Directorate-General for Museums is responsible for implementing several key investments under the plan, including:

  • Investment 1.2 – Removal of Physical and Cognitive Barriers
This investment aims to remove physical and cognitive barriers in museums, libraries, and archives, allowing for broader access to and participation in cultural life.
  • M1C3 – Investment 1.2 – Institutions under the Ministry of Culture – Directorate-General for Museums
  • Investment 1.3 Enhancing energy efficiency in cinemas, theatres, and museums.
  • M1C3 – Investment 1.3 – Directorate-General for Museums
