The National Recovery and Resilience Plan

The Next Generation EU (NGEU) is a €750 billion package, consisting of grants and loans, with the central component being the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), which has a duration of six years, from 2021 to 2026.
The National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) is the tool that implements the NGEU through a coherent package of reforms and investments for the period 2021-2026, detailing the
projects and measures planned. The PNRR is structured around three strategic axes shared at the European level:
  • Digitalization and Innovation
  • Ecological Transition
  • Social Inclusion
The Directorate General for Museums is the implementing body for the following investments:
  • Investment 1.2: Removal of physical and cognitive barriers in museums, libraries, and archives to enable broader access and participation in culture.
